A KBTX-TV news story reports on the renewal of EMERGICON services in College Station

The city of College Station says it is seeing fewer people skip out on paying bills for things like ambulance rides. As College Station grows, the amount of medical related calls is also climbing. For the last five years, the city has outsourced that job to a private company.

“Medical billing in general is very complicated and what we’re trying to do here is recapture costs on especially our ambulance rides and all the EMS services that we offer. We have to recapture costs from the individual’s health insurance and that can be really challenging for in house staff,” said College Station City Council Member James Benham.
